Mercedes data card may say that your Mercedes-Benz has COMAND DVD APS USA, but that is not enough to determine which navigation disk you need. Call your dealer to verify compatibility.

How to Verify Before You Buy

The lists above work from model and year, which is how most people end up with the right disc and occasionally with the wrong one, because facelifts and build dates do not always fall where the model year does. The head unit settles it. A full system scanner reads the control unit identification straight out of the COMAND module, the part number and software version it reports about itself, so you can match the disc to the unit actually fitted rather than to what the car should have left the factory with.

A basic OBD2 reader will not show you this, because it only talks to the engine. A scanner that reaches the comfort and infotainment control units, such as the YOUCANIC UCAN-II Pro, will. It is the cheapest way to avoid buying a disc twice.
