Questions from Mercedes-Benz Owners
How do I find the right part number for my Mercedes-Benz?
The most reliable way is your VIN. Any Mercedes-Benz dealer parts counter can look up the exact part number from your VIN, and the number is also stamped or printed on most original parts, so check the old part before you order. Model years and options change parts mid production, so a VIN check avoids buying the wrong one.
Where can I find hard to get parts like an ABC hydraulic hose?
Start with the dealer using the exact part number, since many parts that look discontinued can still be ordered. If a hose is no longer available or too expensive, specialist hydraulic shops can often rebuild it using your original fittings with new hose material rated for the pressure. Always have a rebuilt high pressure line tested before you drive on it.
I removed my transmission conductor plate. Can I just buy a new one and install it?
On the 722.9 7G-Tronic, no. The conductor plate holds the transmission control unit and its programming, so a new or used plate has to be programmed to your car before the transmission will work properly. Module Medics can clone the data from your original conductor plate onto a replacement, so it works like the original without dealer programming.
